Invented By~ Mortality (Nulrevyri)

Height at the Shoulder~ It depends on the planet on which they live, and the breed. There are, mainly, three breeds: one at 3 ft, one at 5 ft, and one at 8 ft and higher.

Species' Colors~ They can be any rich, deep earth tone, with brighter tones for markings. (NOT meaning purple, unless a smooth dark violet like that of the dusk sky.) Their eyes portray their soul inside, and if the eyes are a color of any precious ore, beware, for they have seen much and known more. Their tail tufts are usually the same color as their markings.

Temperment~ Being immortal has driven them to both extremities of mentality. Both purely good, purely evil, and nearly everything in between as well. They have so many differences within the individual that I cannot give an average. But, one and all, they do not tolerate weakness and never, ever, give up.

Species' Description~ Their appearance is deceivingly mild, usually. Markedly feline, the breeds stand from 3, 5, or 8 and more feet high at the shoulder. Their heads are raptorish, however, with cupped ears akin to a panther's, and whiskers. They have a smooth, silky coat of glossy fur, and if the planet/region they inhabit is a cold one, they have heavy manes and longer, thicker fur. Their necks are somewhat long, also in raptor style, giving them a good range of motion. Their forelegs are muscular and agile, having much flexibility in movement. Their backs are slightly arched, and they, too, have a rib plate, with ribs fused together with braces, making them very hard to injure. Their torso is slightly longer than a normal feline's, again giving them immense flexibility. Their hind legs are that of a cat's, stronger than their fores and powerful slightly longer, so that when they walk, their hind legs are coiled slightly for action. Their tails are long, as long or longer than their body, and end in a long tuft of fur. They have paws, the fore having longer toes and smaller, sharper claws for nimble work, and the hind having broad paws, used for more difficult work such as kicking and running. A simple person, taking a quick look, would most likely dismiss them as panther-like creatures with longer muzzles and a fancy tail. That person would be counted a fool for having overlooked such a being.

About the Breeds~ The smallest breed, the xnevv, are 3 feet at the shoulder on average, and actually not immortal, unlike the larger two breeds. Because of this, xnevv tend to be happy, carefree creatures, loving life and not thinking of death. They also tend to be lighter, paler colors with more intricate markings.

The middle breed, Mortality's breed, are the nykkva, who stand about 5 to 6 feet at the shoulder. They are immortal, and most definitely the most serious of the three breeds. They also are the most powerful, being the only breed which does not believe nor know of physical nor mental limitations.

The largest breed, the velba, are powerful in the fact that they do not decide things easily, nor ever change their minds. They are somewhat slower physically than their kindred, yet admittedly more intelligent. They also are more peaceable in dealing with new species, and are generally the ones who stake out planets for colonization.

Species' History~ It is a long and ancient one. To tell it here would take your mind far away, into a world of swamps and mists and storms where they evolved, to the first struggling steps towards the path to a new planet, one where they could thrive instead of merely survive. It would show you their progress from planet to planet, eagerly expanding and never harming the indigenious life of any planet, nor battling for a planet from any sentient species. It would take you through their height of civilization, at the time when humans weren't even a bacterium in a murky pool, and then the continuing life of all. Never once in their history have they started a war, nor fought as a species in one. But, the full tale and immensity of their history is far too long to tell. Perhaps Mortality will be willing to speak of it, some time.
