Species: Drakka

Species Name - Drakka

Physical Description - Drakka are large, muscular, almost squat bipeds. Most range from 6-7 feet tall, but larger and smaller variations have been known to occur on occasion. They have thick, leathery hide that is uniformly matte black and three bulbous eyes, usually dark red - the third eye is set above and between the other two. Their heads are round, their ears set close to their skulls and pointed, and they have a set of mandibles in place of a mammalian muzzle. (As a result, their language is primarily comprised of a series of hisses and clicks.) They are four-armed, with the top set of arms being notably more muscular and thicker; their top-arm hands are five-fingered (counting the opposable thumb) and blunt-clawed. Their lower arms are leaner, more flexible, and seemingly quicker; their second pair of hands are four-fingered (no thumb) and armed with wickedly curving, sharp talons. They often stand with their lower arms tucked inwards, over their stomachs, and their upper arms hanging straight down along their flanks. Drakka have wide shoulders and a well-defined chest, but most of them have a rounded belly, despite seeming perfectly physically fit. Their legs are digitigrade and constantly bent, muscular but incapable of fast running speeds or great leaps; Drakka seem to be climbers rather than jumpers, joggers rather than sprinters. Their feet are talon-like - three long toes pointing forwards and one shorter opposable toe pointing backwards, all of which are clawed. Drakka have no tails and no visible genitalia; they might be asexual or egg-layers or hive-based.

Temperament - Unknown for certain. In battle, they show signs of cunning, ruthlessness, strategic planning, courage/fearlessness, and dogged endurance. Many Drakka do not show signs of fear, even at their own impending deaths, but this may be due to the fact that non-Drakka have yet to interpret certain scents and facial expressions. Most Drakka fight to their very last breath, even past the point where most reasonable creatures would lose consciousness, surrender, or succumb to pain.

Culture / Technology / History - Culture and history are currently unknown, though it is assumed that Drakka have a fairly typical military hierarchy. Their technology is extremely advanced, rivaling the finest that the Tri-System fleet possesses; they specialize in spacecraft and weaponry. Most Drakka have one to four pistols on their bodies at any given time - these pistols are short, thick, and matte black in color. Pistols can be of a variety of types and may fire metal ammunition (bullets) or energetic pulses (lasers). Drakka who are ranging outside a building also have a headset to keep in touch with their captain/base with earbuds traveling a short ways into the ear canal and resting in the inner ear; the earbuds transmit sound both ways, acting as a dual transmitter-receiver device. As for their spacecraft, they have two main types: standard, caution-tape-yellow, arrowhead-shaped ships, and sleek, glossy-black, bullet-shaped hunterships. Yellowships typically have a corrugated-metal-hull appearance and two big cannons on each wing, with an array of smaller guns along the underbelly of the ship; their shields are nigh-impenetrable, but their offensive ability is limited to whatever's in front of them. Hunterships or blackships have a smooth, polished appearance and are fitted with an array of cannons along each flank; their shields are weaker than the yellowships' but still very strong, and their offensive ability is superb, since most of their guns can be rotated a full circle parallel to the ship itself. Most Drakkan settlements are thoroughly staked out via security cameras, but only doorways are guarded by a Drakkan soldier or an automated weapon system.

Drakka [pronunciation - DRA-kuh || plural - Drakka]

Home World~ Unknown.

Height at the Shoulder~ From what Olashi have observed, this from top shoulder, 5 to 7+ feet.

Colouration~ Greys and blacks are all that has been seen so far.

Clothing~ Other than utility belts and weapons, nothing.

Temperament~ Hostile.

Description~ These bipeds have short, bent, ape-like legs bulging with muscle, splayed and clawed talons, no tails at all, and a simply massive torso. They have two sets of arms, the top one being far larger, more muscular, and with blunt-clawed, five-fingered hands. Their inner or lower set is smaller, weaker, and shorter, but those four-fingered hands possess wickedly long and sharp claws. Their heads are something from a nightmare, round with ears (if you can call those ears) sharp, barbed, and stiffly pointing backwards, seemingly immobile. They have three eyes, two in biologically convenient placement and one where a human's nose is, possibly this third one sees in infrared. Like insects, they have massive mandibles, and whatever language they may speak, it is nearly certain that clicks and grunts are interspersed with the syllables. They do not have fur, but seem to be coated in a thick, leathery hide.

Technology~ There are two types of Drakkan ships - the standard ship and an enhanced prototype refered to as a huntership. The standard ship is triangular and garishly yellow, with the engines mere bulges underneath the "wings" of the arrowhead-shape, and cannons mounted on the upper-edge of the wings. A massive laser cannon is set immobile along the 'spine' of the ship, and smaller laser guns are scattered across the ship in seemingly rearrangable fashion. The hull of these ships is incredibly hard to pierce alone, and when you add the powerful energy-shielding to that, Drakka are hard as all btsa to shoot down. However, their energy shields, unlike most, only stop energy shots from coming through… so, if you flung a rock, it would hit the actual hull. However, few species, if any, have bothered to create massive physical-shot guns which would serve the purpose… but if a Drakka hits a mountain, that sure works. The yellowship, as it is called by Terolians, isn't too big, about 100-200 feet long, and about 65-150 feet wide at its widest point. The exit is under both wings, and an escape hatch lies directly over the cockpit, which is in the forward middle of the ship. Because of the nigh-impenetrable shields, yellowships aren't too fast, nor are they very agile. These tend to be piloted by one to three Drakka, though the most common number is one.

The huntership, however, is far more deadly than the standard Drakkan craft. This ship owns the same basic shape, with more 'wings' making it look like a broadhead (type of arrowhead with four 'wings' around the shaft), though the horizontal wings are far more exaggerated. With a sleek black hull that seems to consume all light, a huntership often isn't picked up on visuals in deep space, for its reflective hull camoflauges it by reflecting the stars around it. Naturally, this doesn't work when on-world or near a star. The huntership is as shielded as a typical yellowship, has far more powerful weapons of both the physical and energy types, is far faster, and is far more maneuverable. Luckily, there aren't as many of these beauts as there are yellowships. Anywhere from yellowship-size to twice as big, these crafts seem to be piloted by three Drakka, with a captain over them who answers comunit, and several others in the background.

Species' Colors~ Greys and blacks are all that has been seen so far, but speculation is that these grim hues are the males. Spies opine that females are reddish os blonde.
